Fundraising Director
We are searching for a full-time Fundraising/Executive Director with a warm & outgoing personality to cultivate donor relationships, organize fundraising events, special campaigns and write grants for Lions Camp Horizon. Your flair for creativity and marketing will shine with the promotional materials you develop and your management skills will inspire staff and volunteers as we meet organizational goals. Your presentations to groups will see donors opening their hearts and checkbooks to support our mission.
Located in Blaine, WA our programs have evolved since 1974. Our residential camp now serves over 260 campers with special needs over five, one-week sessions each summer. You’ll be an integral member of our camp family, involved in day-to-day and long-term strategic planning. We’re looking for someone who will foster a deep commitment to our mission statement and the spirit of our camp. A fanny pack filled with smiles, a willingness to dress in wacky costumes and sing silly songs is a plus.
This is a hybrid position with a salary range of $60-80K DOE and incentive potential of up to 25% of the base salary. Bonus is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers. Caretaker (P/T Year-Round Position)
Job scope includes undertaking periodic security and operational checks on our buildings, responding to occasional potential intruder or fire alarms, assisting renters with access and/or minor facility issues they encounter, working with one of our volunteers who may require another set of hands to complete a task, undertaking limited maintenance such as replacing lightbulbs and occasional cleaning prior to and following a rental.
Dependent on candidate’s skills, experience and interest additional work may be available in the areas of “handyman” repairs and minor improvements whether working independently or with one of our volunteers. Additionally, our extensive grounds require substantial grass cutting and edge trimming conducted with our own equipment. Operation and light maintenance of that equipment is an optional element which could add significant work hours seasonally dependent on the candidate’s experience and interest.
The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 40lbs, routinely climb stairs, use a stepladder and walk amongst our campus buildings both on pavement and somewhat uneven landscape. They must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the USA, pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license and agree to be subject to random drug tests.
Compensation will be based on an hourly rate and is dependent on the skills of the successful candidate. While not required, there is an apartment onsite which could be made available to the successful candidate and would become part of their compensation package.

Seasonal Opportunities
Counselors
Support campers in activities such as bowling, soccer, disc golf, archery, arts & crafts, water activities, horseback riding, and personal care. Must reside over night during camp sessions.
Night Counselor
Provide assistance to campers who require it during the night as well as security in their assigned dormitory. Undertake some light housekeeping duties.
Cooks
Plan and prepare meals for up to 120 individuals in a cafeteria style setting. Supervise food service volunteers and kitchen assistants. Assist with ordering food & related supplies. Full & part-time positions.
Fire Watch Attendants
Patrol dormitories performing fire prevention checks during overnight hours of operation.
Kitchen Assistants
Assist Cooks with meal planning & food preparation, set up and work the serving line, dish room duties. Full & part-time positions.
RN’s/LPN’s
Dispense medications, provide basic first aid, maintain medical records, order supplies. Shifts from 7AM—9PM. Full and part-time positions.
Certified Medical Technician (CMT)
Assist nurse in monitoring and providing care and administering medications.
All employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 in accordance with the State of Washington and the Health Departments current guidelines at the time of employment. People are considered to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 two weeks after they received a second dose in a two-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna). Or two weeks following a single dose COVID-19 vaccination (Johnson & Johnson) Verification of vaccination is required. Documentation must be an official record, such as the COVID-19 vaccination record card, documentation from a healthcare provider electronic health record or state Immunization Information System.
All employees must pass a criminal background check. Some positions require a Food Handler’s Permit, CPR & Basic First Aid and/or AED certification, and/or a driver’s license. Medical staff must have a current Washington State RN or LPN license.
